Porsche AG has unveiled its first-ever all-electric sports utility vehicle (SUV), the 'Macan Electric'. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Macan, and it's truly exciting that the second generation of the Macan will be a pure electric model!
The newly introduced 'Macan 4' and 'Macan Turbo' boast a progressive design and classic Porsche performance. They also offer a long driving range and everyday practicality. Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG, stated that this Macan represents a completely new level of evolution, and Jörg Kerner, Vice President of Product Line Macan, mentioned their goal of making the Macan Electric the sportiest model in its class.
The 'Macan Electric' features state-of-the-art PSM permanent magnet electric motors on both the front and rear axles, resulting in exceptional driving performance. When Launch Control is activated, the Macan 4 delivers an overboost output of 408 hp (300 kW), while the Macan Turbo boasts a powerful output of 639 hp (470 kW). Their top speeds reach an impressive 220 km/h and 260 km/h, respectively!
Porsche has leveraged cutting-edge technology to maximize the efficiency of the 'Macan Electric'. With a maximum DC fast charging output of 270 kW, the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in about 21 minutes. Innovative technologies, including the ability to effectively charge the 800V battery using a 400V charger, have been implemented to optimize both charging time and efficiency.
The Macan Electric inherits Porsche's design DNA while exuding a more dynamic and commanding presence. The subtle contours of the hood and prominent wings create a sense of dynamism even when stationary. The flyline, frameless doors, and pronounced shoulder lines combine to produce a sleek and sporty design.
The Macan Electric features a cutting-edge display system and operation configuration, providing optimal convenience for both the driver and passengers. Passengers can access various information and enjoy videos through their dedicated screens. The trunk capacity has also been increased, offering more storage space.
The starting price in the German market is €84,100 (approximately 122 million won) for the 'Macan 4' and €114,600 (approximately 166.3 million won) for the 'Macan Turbo'. The Korean launch is scheduled for the latter half of this year, but the specific models and pricing are yet to be determined.
Porsche's new endeavor, the 'Macan Electric', with its remarkable performance and design, is expected to capture the attention of many. We eagerly anticipate the future advancements of Porsche in the electric vehicle market! 🚗✨
